Practicum: Main

Prof. Glen Diener is heading the initial idea testing phase with the Practicum class. We are working to have a system that can reliably segment the frames of a video sequence and infer the inner- and inter-relations between the segments among the frames.

To keep cross-platform issues to a minimum, we're developing our program in Java.

The scope of the class will be limited to only defining coherent relationships between segments, with the hope that a patchwork of segments of objects in the scene can be automatically generated and visualized.

These relationships will be based off of a number of weighted properties, such as histogram sameness, adjacent temporal overlap (a segment from one frame to the next will overlap to a relatively high degree), patchwork sameness (coherent graph of adjacent segments), etc.
